Privacy policy
Heistbook doesn't have accounts and never asks for your name or email. The website counts visits without cookies. The apps show ads, and ad partners may use your device's advertising ID to pick and measure them, with your consent where the law requires it. Your in-app progress stays on your device.
Who runs Heistbook
Heistbook is an unofficial Grand Theft Auto VI companion made by an independent developer. It isn't affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. Questions about this policy: contact@heistbook.com.
This policy covers the website at heistbook.com and the Heistbook apps for iOS and Android.
The website
- Hosting. Cloudflare delivers the site. Like any web server, it processes your IP address and basic request details (the page, your browser, the time) to serve pages and block abuse.
- Analytics. We count visits with Plausible Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics. Neither uses cookies or follows you to other sites. They record the page, the referring site, browser and device type, and country, and we only see totals.
- Cookies. The website doesn't set cookies for tracking or advertising. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell people from bots.
- Ads. The website doesn't show ads today. If that changes, this policy will be updated before the first ad appears.
The apps
- No account. There's no sign-up or sign-in.
- Progress and settings (for example, items you mark as collected) are stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes them.
- Content downloads. The app downloads guides, maps, and news from our content server on Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to deliver the files.
- Usage analytics. Amplitude receives anonymous events, such as which screens you open, which features you use, and searches that found nothing. They're tied to a random ID, never your name or email, and help us decide what to improve.
- Crash reports. When the app crashes, Sentry receives a report with the error, app version, device model, and OS version.
- Ads. The free app shows ads from Google AdMob, with AppLovin and Unity Ads as partners. They may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, and how you interact with ads, to choose ads, measure them, cap how often you see them, and prevent fraud. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland the app asks for your consent before personalized ads. On iPhone, it asks for permission to track first. If you say no, you still see ads, just not personalized ones. You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings.
- Purchases. If you buy Remove Ads or Heistbook Pro, payment goes through the App Store or Google Play, and we never see your payment details. RevenueCat, the service that manages purchases for us, receives the store's receipt, a random ID for your copy of the app, and basic device details. That's how ads turn off or Pro unlocks, and how a purchase comes back after you reinstall.
What we don't do
We don't sell personal data. We don't ask for your contacts, photos, or real-world location.
Keeping data safe
Connections to the website, the apps' servers, and the services above are encrypted (HTTPS). We don't keep our own database of users. The data described here stays with those services, and on our end only Heistbook's own accounts with them can see it.
Children
Heistbook is for players of a game rated for adults. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
How long data is kept
Analytics are kept as totals. Crash reports and service logs are kept only as long as needed to fix problems and keep the service running, then deleted.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or California law), you can ask to see, correct, or delete data about you, or object to its use. Because Heistbook has no accounts, we usually can't link data to a person, but email us and we'll help. You can also contact your local data protection authority.
The services above may process data outside your country, including in the United States.
Changes
If this policy changes, this page shows the new date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the apps.
